I saw the Lego Movie last weekend with my five-year-old grandson and his dad, and I can’t get the theme song out of my head.
“Everything is Awesome” (when you’re part of a team) is the favorite song of the movie’s hero, the ordinary guy. Over the course of the film, he learns that he’s special after all. The little plastic heroine (pretty much the only girl in the movie) chooses him over her macho boyfriend, Batman.
Among the life lessons we learned from the movie: anyone can be a builder, you don’t need to follow the directions, and never, never glue your Legos together. Recycle them into other cool things you can build.
Now if someone could just give me some advice on how to forget that earbug of a song….
