Now that Thanksgiving is behind us, our thoughts have turned to decorating our homes for the holidays. For inspiration, we like to look to (and support!) designers and retailers right here in our own backyard, who have an innate sense of the quintessential Connecticut holiday tableau for both inside and outside the home.
To create our outdoor designs, we’ll take our cues from client The LaurelRock Company, whose fine gardening teams transform some of Connecticut’s toniest homes into winter wonderlands using traditional garlands and greens adorned with fruit, holly, twigs, pine cones, festive bows and, of course, holiday lights. We LOVE how they’ve incorporated both the front and back of magnolia leaves to add color and texture to this gorgeous entranceway design.
For our holiday tablescapes, we’re drawing our inspiration from local award-winning florist, Nielsen Florist & Garden Shop, whose November 15th “Home for the Holidays” tabletop event attracted more than 200 guests, and showcased the latest trend: glittering gold and silver metallics. This year, the annual event, which raised $2,000 for victims of Hurricane Sandy, featured several local designers and merchants, who worked with Nielsen’s talented floral designers to style an assortment of stunning holiday-themed tables.
We love these four tabletop options…Which is your favorite?
